We will pick you up from your hotel at 4 a.m. for the four-hour drive to the trail head, where you will have breakfast with your trekking staff. Here, you have the opportunity to give them your duffel bags. After breakfast, you will start your adventure to Machu Picchu. The first four hours are downhill, until your reach your lunch stop at Chikiska. This is a small village with fruit plantations. Along the way, you will have great views of the Apurimac River and the valley, as well as the snow-capped peaks. After lunch, It will be another two hours until we arrive at the bottom of the valley, and see the famous Apurimac River. Following, you will pass a bridge, and have a two-hour, uphill hike to the campsite at Santa Rosa.

After an early breakfast, we start our adventure by walking uphill for 2 hours to the village of Maranpata (2,850m/9,350ft), We enjoy the scenery and then we walk through An amazing spot plenty of flora and fauna to the magnificent archeological site of Choquequirao. We have lunch here and then we will have a private guided tour for us in the afternoon. During the tour, we will explore all the important sections, such as the palaces, temple, ritual water fountains, amazing Ushnu (ceremonial platform), agricultural terraces, llama’s section and much more. Finally, we head back to our second campsite located just 20 minutes from the Choquequirao ruins, where we will have tea and dinner.

This day we have one more chance to explore some of the stunning sections of Choquequirao complex and then head back towards the community of Maranpata for lunch. Afterwards we descend to the magnificent Apurimac River (1,550m/5,117ft) for three hours. Finally, we walk up a moderate hill for one hour to our third campsite at Chiquisca (1,990m/6,270ft)

After early breakfast you will get ready to return to Cusco. It will be the last 3 hours uphill to arrive to the end of the trek where you will enjoy your last lunch with your guide, porters and horsemen. You will say goodbye to your team other than your guide and then continue for about 3 hours, this time by Private Bus, drive back to Cusco along the nice landscape. Optional: After spending time enjoying the site we drive to the hot spring of Conoc to relax after several days of walking. After lunch we head back to Cusco dropping you at your hotel.
